History
Tsuruwa Station opened on 1 October 1961 as an added halt on the Japanese National Railways Kōtoku Line, initially handling only diesel-railcar passenger traffic and operating unstaffed. With the 1 April 1987 privatisation of JNR, Tsuruwa was upgraded to a full station under JR Shikoku. Located in Sanuki, Kagawa Prefecture and numbered T14, the station consists of two opposed side platforms with weather shelters but no station building; the platforms are not directly linked, and passengers cross the tracks via a road-level crossing reached from each end via separate ramps. Only local services call at the station.
