History
Nakamatsue Station opened on 16 June 1912 on Nankai Electric Railway's Kada Line, in the city of Wakayama, Wakayama Prefecture. The station sits 3.3 kilometres from the line's terminus at Kinokawa Station and 5.9 kilometres from Wakayamashi Station, and consists of an island platform connected by an internal level crossing. Although the station building itself has seen few notable rebuilds, its operator has changed several times over the decades through a chain of mergers and asset transfers between Kada Light Railway, Kada Electric Railway, Nankai Railway, Kintetsu and ultimately the present Nankai Electric Railway. Station numbering NK44-2 was introduced on 1 April 2012.
