History
Konpiramae Station opened on 1 July 1916 as a halt operated by the privately run Awa Electric Railway (later Awa Railway), in what is today the city of Naruto, Tokushima Prefecture. After the Awa Railway was nationalised on 1 July 1933, Japanese Government Railways upgraded the halt to a full passenger station and operated it as part of the Awa Line. On 20 March 1935, when other stations on the line were absorbed into the Kōtoku Main Line, Konpiramae was reassigned to the Muya Line, later renamed the Naruto Line. With the 1 April 1987 JNR privatisation the station passed to JR Shikoku and carries station number N08.
