History
Ōtoshi Station opened on 20 February 1913 when the privately operated Dai-Nippon Kidō Yamaguchi branch line was nationalised and re-laid through the present location; the original Ōtoshi Station of 1908 had stood slightly to the east. Freight handling was withdrawn on 6 June 1961 and parcel handling on 10 August 1971. Following the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 the station passed to JR West. Today the station is a two-platform halt on the JR West Yamaguchi Line in Yamaguchi city, with a footbridge connecting the side platforms and an automated ticket machine at the sole entrance.
