History

Yoshinari Station opened on 1 July 1916 on the privately operated Awa Electric Railway, later the Awa Railway. After the company was nationalised on 1 July 1933 the station passed to Japanese Government Railways as part of the Awa Line; on 20 March 1935 it became a station on the Kōtoku Main Line. With the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987 the station came under JR Shikoku, and from 1 June 1988 the line was renamed the Kōtoku Line. The surrounding area includes the Seikō-en and Ōjin schools, including their elementary, junior- and senior-high campuses.
