History
Fujū Station opened on 25 September 1897 as a station on the San'yō Railway with the extension of the line from Hiroshima to Tokuyama. The San'yō Railway was nationalised in 1906, and in 1909 the line was renamed the San'yō Main Line. With the privatisation of the Japan National Railway on 1 April 1987 the station passed to the West Japan Railway Company (JR West). It is located in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture, near Japan National Route 188 and Yamaguchi Prefectural Iwakuni General High School, and is served by local trains on the San'yō Main Line.
