History
Mitsuhama Station is a JR Shikoku station on the Yosan Line in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, located 190.7 km from the line's start at Takamatsu and assigned station number Y54. The Ministry of Railways opened it on 3 April 1927 when the Iyo-Hōjō–Matsuyama segment of the Yosan Line entered service. Freight handling ended on 15 November 1982, parcel handling on 14 March 1985, and the station became unstaffed at the same time. On 15 February 1987 it returned to staffed direct operation with one employee and a kiosk. JR Shikoku inherited the station at privatization on 1 April 1987, and it was re-designated unstaffed on 1 September 2010.

Notes
Although Mitsuhama Station is near Matsuyama's Mitsu district, the recognised gateway to that neighbourhood is the privately operated Iyo-tetsudō Mitsu Station; consequently the JR station's forecourt is comparatively quiet despite the area's size.
