History
Torinoki Station opened on 1 November 1986 as an infill Yosan Line stop, operated by Japanese National Railways. It lies in the city of Iyo in Ehime Prefecture, sits 204.8 km from the line's beginning at Takamatsu and carries the station number U04. Control passed to JR Shikoku at the 1987 JNR privatisation. The station has been unstaffed since opening and uses a single side platform; it was reconfigured in 1997 to handle four-car formations, and the original stepped ramp was rebuilt as a gentle ramp at the same time. Only Yosan Line local trains stop here.
