History
Tōnoharu Station, situated in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka, opened on 1 November 1986 as a Nishi-Nippon Railroad station on what is now the Nishitetsu Kaizuka Line. The site had earlier hosted a Hakata Bay Railway and Steamship stop in 1924, but that earlier station was withdrawn the same year and the 1986 reopening is treated as a fresh debut. Station numbering NK07 was introduced on 1 February 2017, and centralised remote station-management equipment entered trial operation on 1 October 2024 with full rollout scheduled for 1 April 2025. The station retains a single ground-level island platform and is unstaffed.
