History
Nishitetsu Kashii Station opened on 23 May 1924 as Shin-Kashii on the Hakata Bay Railway and Steamship line, and entered the Nishitetsu network after the 19 September 1942 corporate merger. It was renamed Nishitetsu Kashii on 15 May 1950. The historic ground-level station, the only Nishitetsu station with a pre-war wooden depot until its end, was replaced on 14 May 2006 when the line was elevated as part of the Kashii sub-centre redevelopment project; the new structure has a single island platform underneath the building, with a forecourt for buses opened in August 2017. Station numbering NK05 followed on 1 February 2017. It is the only managed station on the Kaizuka Line and serves as the line's headquarters.

Notes
Until the 2006 elevation work the original 1924 wooden depot survived as the only pre-war station building anywhere on Nishitetsu's network.
