History
Itoshima-Kōkōmae Station opened on 16 March 2019 as a request-built infill stop on JR Kyushu's Chikuhi Line in Itoshima City, Fukuoka. Construction was funded entirely by the city, which submitted a naming proposal in July 2017 after community discussion; the provisional working name had been Urashi New Station. JR Kyushu confirmed the chosen name in May 2018 and weekday rapid services have stopped at the station since opening. Platform doors entered service on 13 March 2021. The site is staffed and the contract operation by JR Kyushu Service Support that began at opening was wound up on 1 October 2023, when the station became a direct JR Kyushu operation.
