History

Akebonochō Station opened on 16 September 1907 with the Ino Line extension west from Kagamigawabashi to Kōnai. The stop passed to Tosaden Kōtsū on 1 October 2014 with the operator merger. The Ino Line between Kamobe to the east and Asakura-ekimae to the west runs on an old narrow road; safety-island platforms cannot be built, and boarding is on painted white lines. Around this stop the road widens slightly, but east of here towards Kamobe the road is exceptionally narrow and the tracks are offset to the north edge.

Notes

From here east as far as Kamobe the Ino Line runs along the old Asakura highway, a road so narrow it has the tracks pushed up against its northern edge and forces both safety islands and proper shelters off the line.
