Sanbashi-dōri-nichōme

桟橋通二丁目

History

Sanbashidōri-Nichōme was authorised on 5 August 1950 as a Tosa Electric Railway stop and originally opened under the name Sanbashidōri-Sanchōme (桟橋通三丁目停留場). On 20 June 1955 it was renamed to its present Sanbashidōri-Nichōme as a new third-block stop opened to its south and the second-block name was passed down the line. The stop transferred to Tosaden Kōtsū on 1 October 2014 when Tosa Electric Railway merged with Kōchi Kenkōtsū and Tosaden Dream Service.

Notes

The pair of facing platforms is linked to the sidewalks by pedestrian overpasses rather than by crosswalks at road level — a layout uncommon among the Kōchi tram's curbside stops.
