History
Sanbashidōri-Sanchōme opened on 20 June 1955 as a new Tosa Electric Railway stop, on the same day the neighbouring second-block stop (which had previously carried the third-block name) was renamed Sanbashidōri-Nichōme. The stop transferred to Tosaden Kōtsū on 1 October 2014 following the merger of Tosa Electric Railway, Kōchi Kenkōtsū and Tosaden Dream Service.

Notes
The two platforms are placed diagonally across an intersection rather than facing each other — Sanbashi-bound passengers wait on the north side of the crossing, Kōchi-eki-bound passengers on the south side.
