History
Iyo-Yoshida Station opened on 2 July 1941 as part of the then Uwajima Line under Japanese Government Railways, which ran between Uwajima and Unomachi. The line was joined into the Yosan Main Line on 20 June 1945 when the Yosan Main Line was extended west from Yawatahama through Unomachi. Freight handling ended on 8 November 1971 and parcel handling on 14 March 1985. The station was unstaffed under a contracted-agent arrangement on 3 March 1986, and on 1 November of that year some "Shiokaze" limited expresses began stopping here. At the 1 April 1987 privatisation control passed to JR Shikoku. From 1 September 2010 limited-express stops were greatly expanded, and from 12 March 2011 all limited expresses began stopping.

Notes
From its early years under JNR the station was a regular limited-express stop: 1970s–early 1980s express "Uwajima" services all called here, and after a 1986 limited-express stop trial, full all-express service was secured in March 2011.
