Chitose-machi

千歳町

History

Chitose-machi opened on 7 May 1998 as part of the Nagasaki Electric Tramway's stop consolidation, becoming the operator's newest stop on the main line at number 13. It replaced the Nagasaki-eki-bound platform of Shōwa-machi-dōri to the north (abolished the same day as part of National Route 206 widening), and the Wakaba-machi stop to its south was relocated southwards at the same time. All three of the 1·2·3 series stop here.

Notes

The stop's heaviest traffic generator is "Chitose Pier" — a one-stop complex combining supermarket, public facilities and city-managed apartments — built next to the stop and reachable in under a minute.
