History

Nakagōri stop was installed on 20 December 1959 (Shōwa 34) by the Kagoshima City Transportation Bureau. It is on the Tōsō Line of the Kagoshima City Tram, served only by Route 2 in regular operation (also Route 2 in through running). The stop has two opposed side platforms, and passengers can cross between them at any time when a tram is not passing. Because the platforms are too narrow to meet regulation, neither wheelchairs nor electric wheelchairs can be used. The stop is unstaffed and no tickets are sold on site.

Notes

Two of Kagoshima's neighbourhood schools are within walking distance of Nakagōri: Kagoshima University Educational Faculty's affiliated elementary school, and Kagoshima Municipal Nakagōri Elementary School. On the through-running Route 2 service, the adjacent stop on the Kagoshima-eki-mae side is Junshin-Gakuen-mae, and on the south side the through service connects via Kōriモト (Minamigawa) — a small distinction reflecting the Tōsō Line's split arrangement.
