History
Utsunomiya-eki-higashi-guchi Station (no. 01) is the northern terminus of the Utsunomiya Light Rail Utsunomiya-Haga LRT Line, in Miyamurai 1-chōme, Utsunomiya, integrated into the East Exit plaza of JR East's Utsunomiya Station. The provisional name during planning was "JR-Utsunomiya-eki-higashi-guchi". It opened on 26 August 2023 with a special ceremony held in the surrounding area. The stop has a single island platform serving two tracks, with turnaround facilities. A ticket office is located behind the escalator on the ground floor — making this the only staffed station on the entire Utsunomiya-Haga LRT Line. The stop also has a free Wi-Fi access point and the multifunction digital signage "Korëo Touch" (operated by Shimotsuke Shimbun). Because the LRT will eventually be extended west of Utsunomiya Station, a corresponding stop is planned for the West Exit plaza.

Notes
Utsunomiya-eki-higashi-guchi is the only staffed station on the Utsunomiya–Haga LRT Line — a ticket office for season-pass sales sits behind the escalator on the ground floor; every other stop on the 19-stop line is unstaffed.
