History
Shin-Tsunashima Station opened on 18 March 2023 with the inauguration of the Tōkyū Shin-Yokohama Line in Yokohama, operated by Tokyu Corporation. The station name was selected through a public survey held in 2020: "Shin-Tsunashima" beat "Higashi-Tsunashima" in the choice section, and Tokyu confirmed the name on 21 December 2020, with formal designation on 21 October 2022. The station is built underground close to the existing Tsunashima Station on the Tōkyū Tōyoko Line, and consists of an island platform with two tracks at approximately 34.9 m below the surface, equivalent to a fifth basement level. The depth was required so the tracks could pass beneath the Tsurumi River to the south.
