History
Ōmura Rail Yard Station is a JR Kyushu Ōmura Line halt in Ōmura, Nagasaki Prefecture, situated 31.1 km from the line’s starting point at Haiki and between the existing stops at Matsubara and Takematsu. It opened on 23 September 2022, the same day the Nishi-Kyūshū Shinkansen began running between Takeo-onsen and Nagasaki; the station name had been settled on 26 November 2020. Ōmura financed the petition station to provide access to JR Kyushu’s neighbouring Kumamoto Rolling Stock Centre Ōmura Vehicle Management Office, which maintains the new shinkansen fleet. The unstaffed single-platform station handles local trains and the Seaside Liner rapid service, and a SUGOCA reader was added on 9 October 2025.

Notes
It opened the same day as the Nishi-Kyūshū Shinkansen so passengers could reach the depot that houses the new shinkansen fleet by conventional-line train.
