History
The station first opened on 13 September 1903 as Sukage Station on the Tobu Isesaki Line, was discontinued on 15 August 1908, and reopened on 1 April 1927. On 1 September 1968 it was renamed Minami-Hanyū Station and moved approximately 100 metres towards Kazo. The station was equipped with elevators, ramps and an accessible toilet in late March 2016, and LED departure indicators were installed on 26 March 2024. Notes
An east-side plaza and roundabout were built when the surrounding district was replatted, but no ticket gate has yet been opened on that side — passengers wishing to use it must still detour via the level crossing to the west exit.
