History
Kazo Station opened on 6 September 1902 when Tobu Railway extended its Isesaki Line from Kuki, and the line was pushed further to Kawamata the following spring. The current elevated station building and a small commercial complex were completed on 22 November 1985. A 2006 timetable revision renamed semi-expresses to section express services and cut the number of Asakusa-bound trains, while expanding limited-express Ryōmō stops. Station numbering TI-05 was introduced on 17 March 2012, departure melodies on 25 March 2013, and Liberty Ryōmō limited expresses began stopping on 21 April 2017. The station's adjoining "Kazo Mine" shopping arcade closed in May 2025.

Notes
The 4.6-kilometre gap between Kazo and the next station, Minami-Hanyū, is the longest inter-station distance on Tobu's Isesaki Line.
