History

Tamayodo Station opened on 1 April 1934 on the Tōbu Tōjō Line in Yorii, Saitama Prefecture, 74.4 km from the Ikebukuro terminus. Operations were suspended on 26 December 1943 and the station was formally abolished on 29 August 1947 amid wartime contraction; service was restored on 7 September 1951, with the platform relocated 200 m towards Yorii. Station numbering was introduced across the Tōjō Line on 17 March 2012, when Tamayodo became TJ-37. On 31 October 2020, with the opening of Minami-Yorii between Tōbu Takezawa and Obusuma, the station was renumbered TJ-38. It consists of a single side platform on an embankment, with stairs to the modest station building below.

Notes

Tamayodo's 600 m gap to the next station, Yorii, is the shortest interstation distance on the entire Tōbu Tōjō Line.
