History

Minami-Kurihashi Station opened on 1986-08-26 as a new station inserted between Kurihashi and Satte on the Tōbu Nikkō Line; with its opening, Asakusa-bound trains that had previously turned at Satte extended their runs to here. Through-running with the Hibiya, Hanzōmon and Tōkyū Den-en-toshi lines began on 2003-03-19, and at the March 2006 timetable revision, the station was added as a stop for the new Section Rapid service; Hibiya Line through-services were extended to Minami-Kurihashi in March 2013. The 2017-04-21 timetable revision abolished the Rapid and Section Rapid services and introduced new Express and Section Express services between Minami-Kurihashi and Tōbu-Nikkō, fully splitting non-limited-express services here. A secondary station name BLP Minami-Kurihashi Smart Villa was added in May 2022, and from March 2023 a small number of limited-express trains began stopping again, six years after the previous arrangement ended.
