History

Kita-Sakado Station opened on 1973-08-21 as a station on the Tōbu Tōjō Main Line, in step with the inauguration of the Urban Renaissance Agency's (then Japan Housing Corporation) Kita-Sakado district of the Musashi Ryokuen-toshi project. The high-rise blocks of the resulting Kita-Sakado housing estate stand directly in front of the station. The station is a ground-level station with a single island platform and two tracks, topped by an elevated station building. Lifts and escalators connect the concourse to the platforms and to the east entrance, and a lift links the western pedestrian deck to street level. The 2017 Tōbu capital-investment plan included a refurbishment of the station building. The station carries the code TJ 27, and TJ Liner and Kawagoe Tokkyū services pass through without stopping.

Notes

Kita-Sakado was inaugurated in step with the opening of a brand-new "Kita-Sakado district" of the public Musashi Ryokuen-toshi housing project; the developer's tower blocks still dominate the view from both station exits.
