History
Ōmiya-kōen Station opened on 17 November 1929 with the Hokusō Railway Noda Line's first segment between Kasukabe and a provisional Ōmiya station. The operator was renamed Sōbu Railway five days later, and Tōbu Railway absorbed the line on 1 March 1944. The station has remained a two-platform, two-track ground-level stop since opening, with a footbridge linking the platforms. Departure melodies were introduced on 1 April 2008, and station operation was contracted to Tōbu Station Service on 1 December 2009. A new station building, designed by Sakakura Associates, was built west of the existing structure between June 2015 and 23 April 2016, after which the original 1929 building was demolished.
