History
Koshigaya-Laketown Station opened on 15 March 2008 to coincide with the inauguration of the Aeon Lakatown shopping centre and the formal opening of the surrounding new town. The name had been confirmed on 22 February 2007, and total construction costs of 3.6 billion yen were split between the Urban Renaissance Agency and the city of Koshigaya. A south entrance was added on 6 August 2012. The station is an elevated structure with two opposed side platforms long enough for eight-car trains, set above a ground-level concourse and a 13-metre-wide free passageway. Day-to-day operations are contracted to JR East Station Services under Minami-Koshigaya's management, and the station houses NewDays, accessibility lifts, and reserved-seat ticket machines.

Notes
Among Musashino Line stations without an interchange, this is the busiest by boarding count; it overtook Higashi-Urawa for that distinction in fiscal 2021 thanks to footfall from Aeon Lakatown.
