History

Shin-Sayama Station opened on 15 November 1964 on the Seibu Shinjuku Line in what is now Sayama, Saitama Prefecture, after the Kawagoe-Sayama industrial park began attracting factory tenants the same year. In 1966 the platforms were enlarged from a single side platform serving one track to two side platforms with two tracks, and an overhead-bridge station building was completed at the same time. The Tomony station kiosk closed on 10 April 2023, and on 27 March 2025 the station became remotely operated, with on-site ticket sales discontinued. Station-numbering label SS27 was assigned in fiscal 2012. Operation has remained with Seibu Railway throughout the station's history.

Notes

Between 2014 and 2019 the departure jingles were Lotte advertising tunes, a nod to the confectioner's Sayama plant just north of the tracks; the up platform used the "Koala no March" tag and the down platform later switched to the Ghana chocolate motif.
