History

Nagareyama-ōtakanomori Station opened on 24 August 2005, on the same day that the Tsukuba Express line began service, and was simultaneously inserted as an infill stop on the Tōbu Noda Line (Tōbu Urban Park Line). The station was deliberately designed as a junction between the two operators in the city of Nagareyama, Chiba. The adjoining Nagareyama-ōtakanomori Shopping Center opened on 12 March 2007, and station numbering brought it the designations TX12 (Tsukuba Express) and TD-22 (Tōbu) from 17 March 2012. From 14 March 2020 it became a stop for all Tōbu Noda Line express services.

Notes

Although the name evokes the goshawks (ōtaka) of the nearby Ichinoya Forest, the place name "Ōtakanomori" did not exist before the station — neighbouring districts were renamed in 2019 to match the rebrand.
