History
Tsuruse Station opened on 1 May 1914 in present-day Fujimi, Saitama, the day the Tōjō Railway began operations between Ikebukuro and Tamenosawa. The line was absorbed by the Tōbu Railway on 22 July 1920, becoming the Tōbu Tōjō Line. Electrification between Ikebukuro and Kawagoeshi was completed on 1 October 1929, and the section between Tsuruse and Kami-Fukuoka was double-tracked on 1 March 1954. A bridged station building was added in 1973 and the west entrance in March 1980. Through-running with the Yūrakuchō Line began on 25 August 1987, and with the Fukutoshin Line on 14 June 2008. The station was assigned the number TJ-17 on 17 March 2012.

Tsuruse's daily ridership exceeded 60,000 at its peak; it declined after the new Fujimino Station opened in 1993, before climbing back when LaLaport Fujimi opened in 2015.
