History

Bushi Station opened on 15 April 1915 on the Musashino Railway, the predecessor of the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. It became part of Seibu Agricultural Railway when that company absorbed Musashino on 22 September 1945, and was renamed simply Seibu Railway in November 1946. In the late 1970s the layout was rebuilt from one island platform into two side platforms plus a centre track, and a new station building opened on 15 April 1984, followed by a south entrance that September. Seibu assigned the station number SI24 in fiscal 2012, and through-running to Yokohama via Tokyu Toyoko began on 16 March 2013. From 1 April 2024 ticket-window sales ended and the stop is staffed by intercom.

Notes

The centre track between the two platforms is now used to turn back the special trains run for the Iruma Air Base airshow each 3 November.
