History

Ōtagiri Station opened on 31 October 1914 as a provisional stop on the Ina Electric Railway in Komagane, Nagano Prefecture. It was closed when the railway was nationalised on 1 August 1943 and integrated into the Iida Line, then reopened on 1 September 1946 as a Ministry of Transport passenger station. The station passed to JR Central with the 1 April 1987 privatisation of Japanese National Railways. It remains an unstaffed stop with a single side platform and a small shelter rather than a station building.

Notes

The platform sits on a curve, so a noticeable gap opens up between the train and the platform edge.
