History

Nishi-Eifuku Station opened on 1 August 1933 on the Teito Electric Railway in Eifuku, Suginami, Tokyo. It became an Odakyū Teito Line stop on 1 May 1940 when Teito merged with Odawara Express Railway, was absorbed into the wartime Tokyo Express Electric Railway on 1 May 1942, and emerged as a Keiō Inokashira Line station when Keiō Teito Electric Railway broke off again on 1 June 1948. To improve accessibility and reduce delays at the level crossing alongside, work began in October 2007 to convert the station into a bridge-style structure with a north exit; the new concourse, north exit and internal lifts and escalators entered service in December 2007, and the south exit followed on 25 March 2008. A multipurpose accessible toilet was added inside the gates. Platform-edge doors are scheduled to enter service on 28 June 2026.

Notes

Neighbouring Eifukuchō Station is only 700 metres away, and on a clear day passengers can actually see both adjacent platforms — Eifukuchō to the east and Hamadayama to the west — from the platform here.
