History

Umegaoka Station opened on 1 April 1934 on the Odakyū Odawara Line, originally laid out with a single island platform because it was planned as an interchange with the never-built Tokyo Yamanote Express. The platforms were re-configured into opposed side platforms in 1962. Construction to elevate and quadruple the tracks began in June 1994; the down line moved onto the viaduct on 10 March 2002 and the up line followed in December, with permanent platforms in service by mid-2003. Station number OH09 was assigned in January 2014, and platform-edge doors entered service on 15 December 2019.

Notes

The single-island layout used at opening reflected a planned cross-platform interchange with the never-constructed Tokyo Yamanote Express line.
