History
Fuda Station opened in 1917 on the Keiō Electric Tramway's Sasazuka–Chōfu section, at the line's crossing with the old Kōshū Kaidō highway; the Keiō company's own records do not preserve the month or day. The station was relocated to its present location on 17 December 1927. In March 2007 the platforms were moved to a temporary overhead station as preparation for the Chōfu-area grade separation, and on 19 August 2012 Fuda was relocated underground together with Chōfu and Kokuryō. Station number KO17 was assigned on 22 February 2013.

Notes
From February 2020 the station's approach melody has been the song "Itsudemo Yume o" — the title number of the 1963 Nikkatsu film of the same name, which was shot at the Nikkatsu Chōfu Studio just outside the station.
