History

Odakyū-Nagayama Station opened on 1 June 1974 as a local-train stop on the new Odakyū Tama Line. At opening, a temporary turnout inside the station perimeter allowed the line to reverse there, and the station became an intermediate stop on 23 April 1975 when the line was extended to Odakyū-Tama-Center. Romancecar Homeway and express services began calling on 2 December 2000, Chiyoda Line through-running Tama Express services on 23 March 2002, semi-express services on 15 March 2014, and commuter-express and rapid-express services on 17 March 2018. Odakyū opened this station roughly four and a half months before Keiō's sibling Keiō-Nagayama; the two station buildings are effectively combined. From 15 March 2025 Tōkyō Metro Chiyoda Line through-running trains have once again begun stopping at the station.
