History
Takatsu Station is a passenger halt on the San'in Main Line in Ayabe, Kyoto Prefecture, operated by JR West. It was inserted between Ayabe and Ishihara on 12 February 1958, originally as a Japanese National Railways stop handling passengers only. The station passed to JR West with the privatisation of JNR on 1 April 1987. Administrative responsibility moved to the Maizuru Railway Section in 1991, returned to direct Fukuchiyama branch control in 2006, and was reorganised under the Kinki Region's Fukuchiyama Management Office in October 2022. The unstaffed halt consists of two opposed side platforms reached directly from the Ayabe end of each platform; with no points or signals it is classified as a tomarijo (flag stop).
