History

Nagahara Station is an underground station on the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line, located in Hirano-ku, Osaka. The station opened on 27 November 1980 when the Tanimachi Line was extended south from Tennōji to Yaominami. Operation transferred from the Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau to the newly privatised Osaka Metro on 1 April 2018. Platform-edge doors entered service on 10 March 2026. The station has a single underground island platform serving two tracks and a single ticket gate, with two exits each on the east and west sides of the Central Loop Road above.

Notes

Construction of the station unearthed Kofun-period remains that came to be known as the Nagahara Burial Mound Group, and the tracks and station structures were laid out to skirt the archaeological features.
