History

Toke Station opened on 1 November 1896 as a stop on the Bōsō Railway between Noda (today's Honda) and Ōami. The line was nationalised on 1 September 1907 and became part of the Government Railways, later JNR. Freight handling ended in October 1962. A new station building with a south exit opened on 28 August 1986. Toke became a JR East station at JNR privatisation in 1987, gained limited rapid stops the same year, and joined the express Wakashio's stopping pattern in September 2002. Suica service began on 18 November 2001.
