History
Higashi-Rinkan Station opened on 1 April 1929 as Higashi-Rinkantoshi Station on what is now the Odakyū Enoshima Line, originally a 'direct' (Chokutsū) stop. Its name was shortened to Higashi-Rinkan on 15 October 1941. Operations were suspended in April 1945 in the closing months of the war and the station reopened on 1 April 1949; by then the pre-war direct-service category had been abolished. A new elevated-walkway station building with an east–west free passage was completed on 27 August 1982, and an updated electronic destination display went into service in August 2012.
