History
Chūō-rinkan Station opened on 1 April 1929 as Chūō-rinkantoshi Station (中央林間都市駅) on the Odakyu Enoshima Line in the city of Yamato, Kanagawa Prefecture. It was renamed to its present name on 15 October 1941. On 9 April 1984, the Tōkyū Den-en-toshi Line was extended to Chūō-rinkan, making the station the line's western terminus and turning it into an interchange between Odakyu and Tokyu. The Odakyu portion is above ground with two opposed side platforms; the Tokyu portion is underground with a single island platform.
