History

Koganechō Station opened on 1 April 1930 on the present-day Keikyū Main Line in Minami-ku, Yokohama. Keikyu introduced station numbering on 21 October 2010, assigning KK40 to the stop. After express services were withdrawn from the southern Main Line and northern Zushi Line on 31 July 1999 the station was served only by local trains, but it was added to the Airport Express stopping pattern from 16 May 2010. Wartime air raids on Yokohama destroyed the surrounding district in 1945, and Keikyu opened a mixed-use complex including restaurants, lodging and waterfront leisure beneath the elevated tracks between Koganechō and Hinodechō stations in spring 2018.
