History
Shake Station opened on 15 July 1926 with the inauguration of the Kuramichi-Atsugi section of the Sagami Railway. The line was nationalised on 1 June 1944 and the station became part of the Japanese National Railways' Sagami Line; freight handling ended in June 1962 and the station became unstaffed in October the same year. With privatisation on 1 April 1987 it passed to JR East. Suica use began on 18 November 2001, the ticket window closed on 26 December 2014, and remote management from Hashimoto Station began on 13 March 2016. An elevator was installed on 6 March 2023.

The arch-fronted concrete station building dates to 1926 and was built by the line's founding Sagami Railway from materials sourced through its own gravel-quarrying business; an identical design survives at Kurami Station.
