History

Nagamori Station opened on 1 November 1920, when the Takayama Line (renamed the Takayama Main Line in 1934) was opened between Gifu and Kagamigahara, handling both passenger and freight traffic. Freight and parcel services ended on 1 January 1969, when the station was simultaneously destaffed. JR Central took over from JNR on 1 April 1987. TOICA service began on 13 March 2010, and a new north-side rotary plaza with parking facilities entered service on 20 April 2024. Together with Gifu and Nishi-Gifu, it is one of three JR Central stations within the city of Gifu.
