History
Shin-Kiyosu Station opened on 3 February 1928 as Nishi-Kiyosu Station on what would become the Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line. It was renamed to its present name on 16 May 1948. Parcel handling ended on 16 February 1967, and the station was promoted to a semi-express stop on 25 December 1970. An underground station building opened on 1 September 1975, and overtaking sidings on both directions were added on 1 April 1976, raising the station to express status on 12 April that year. It became a Kaisoku-Kyūkō stop on 29 January 2005, and Manaca IC ticketing started on 11 February 2011. A grade-separation project is planned to run from fiscal 2025 through fiscal 2038.

Notes
Through-trains are speed-limited to 100–110 km/h at Shin-Kiyosu because, despite the straight platform, elastic switches were never installed; the cramped concourse also has automated turnstiles set sideways to fit.
