History

Miyamaki Station opened on 3 November 1928 as a station on the Nara Electric Railway, serving what is now Kyōtanabe, Kyoto Prefecture. The Nara Electric Railway merged into the Kintetsu group in 1963, bringing the station under the Kintetsu Kyoto Line, where it is designated B18 and lies 22.4 kilometres from Kyoto Station. Elevation works began in April 2002, with the Kyoto-bound platform raised on 10 July 2004 and the Yamato-Saidaiji-bound platform on 6 August 2005, completing the project. The station forecourt was finished in March 2008, and the platforms can accommodate six-car trains. The station became fully unstaffed on 10 January 2024.
