History

Nagase Station opened on 31 October 1924 with the completion of the Osaka Electric Tramway Yagi Line section between Ashidai (now Fuse) and Yao (now Kintetsu Yao). It became a station of Kansai Express Railway through merger with Sangu Express Railway on 15 March 1941, and of Kinki Nippon Railway on 1 June 1944 through wartime consolidation. PiTaPa service began on 1 April 2007. The station carries two opposed ground-level side platforms with separate buildings and ticket gates on each side; passengers wishing to change platforms must use an underground passage outside the fare zone. The subtitle "Kindai Daigaku-mae" reflects the adjacent Kindai University campus.

Notes

On weekdays, Nagase has the highest combined boardings of any Kintetsu station bypassed by both semi-express and section-semi-express services.
