History
Murōguchi-Ōno Station opened on 10 October 1930 with the Sangu Express Railway's extension of the line from Haibara to Iga-Kambe. Through the 15 March 1941 merger with Osaka Electric Tramway, the station joined Kansai Express Railway, and the 1 June 1944 wartime consolidation transferred it to Kintetsu, where it now sits on the Osaka Line, 57.2 kilometres from Osaka-Uehommachi. PiTaPa acceptance started on 1 April 2007. On 10 October 2010 an Imperial inspection train ran between Kintetsu Nara and Murōguchi-Ōno using the first 21020 Series Urban Liner Next set. Rapid express services began stopping here on 20 March 2012, and the station was destaffed around the clock from 21 December 2013.
