History

Haruki Station opened on 18 October 1914 on the Nankai Railway between Ōtsu (now Izumiōtsu) and Kishiwada. It passed to Kintetsu in the 1944 wartime merger and to Nankai Electric Railway with the 1947 line separation, with freight operations ending on 28 February 1977. A revised timetable on 27 November 2005 introduced an up-bound semi-express service starting from platform 3, and station numbering NK22 was assigned in April 2012. A new west-exit station building entered service on 14 January 2017. The station has one side platform and one island platform serving three tracks, with platform 3 acting as a turn-back terminus on the Wakayama-bound side.
