History
Yasuura Station opened on 17 February 1935 under the name Mitsuuchinoumi Station (三津内海駅), the temporary terminus of the Sankure Line as it was extended from Takehara. The line was completed to Hiro in November of the same year, joining the Mihara-Kaitaichi route to form today's Kure Line. The station was renamed Yasuura on 1 May 1946. An iron footbridge donated by the town followed in 1947. The 1987 privatisation transferred operation to JR West; ICOCA service began on 1 September 2007. The Midori no Madoguchi ticket window closed on 31 March 2022, and the station became unstaffed the following day.

Notes
The station opened under the name "Mitsuuchinoumi" in 1935 and only became "Yasuura" in 1946, taking the name of the township after a wartime municipal merger.
